Rooted in the heart of the Texas citrus industry in Mission, Texas, Lone Star Citrus Growers is, at its core, a family enterprise. The company is led by President Jud Flowers, who founded the business in 2007 alongside his son, T.J. Flowers, Vice President of Sales and Operations. What began as a father and son partnership has grown into a multigenerational effort: Jud’s wife, Margie, provides oversight to the administrative staff & accounting department while T.J.’s wife, April Flowers, guides the company’s marketing vision. Jud and Margie’s son, Michael, manages harvesting operations as well as involvement in the family’s cattle operations, while their daughter Summer previously worked in the admin office. Now the third generation is involved T.J. and April’s teenage daughters have spent time working in the family business, both in the admin office and in the packing shed. Together the Flowers’ own and operate the only independent, family run, vertically integrated, citrus production enterprise in Texas.

As a family whose livelihood is tied directly to the land, we are deeply committed to sustainable farming and responsible production practices. Our investments in 100% recycled paperboard, advanced irrigation tracking technology, and integrated pest management reflect our dedication to protecting the groves that will one day be passed to the next generation. All new plantings are high density on raised, covered beds with a pressurized irrigation system, reducing water use by up to 30% and ensuring long term orchard health.

Our state of the art processing facility supports this legacy with modern harvesting, accounting, traceability, and processing systems that keep us operating at peak efficiency. Yet even with cutting edge technology, our approach remains personal.
